    Area of Study:
    Acting (MFA)

I chose to attend The Theatre School at DePaul University because… I wanted to learn more about the craft acting from Dexter Bullard, study Meisner-based improvisation, and live in a city that I’d never been to before.

I chose my major because… There’s something about the emotional quality of acting and how it connects people that I enjoy—I love the power of storytelling.

A faculty or staff member that has greatly influenced me is… Claudia Anderson, because she challenged me to discover what would happen if I let down my walls and allowed the vulnerability I feel to show.

Something that surprised me about my experience or curriculum here is… How connected the coursework is, even though it seems counter-intuitive at first.

One thing that I’d like to say to students considering attending The Theatre School, or my peers in the industry, is…… To Prospective Students: You will sharpen your chops, learn your craft, and gain a deeper understanding of your point of view and how it informs your acting at The Theatre School. To my Peers: I’m excited to graduate and continue the next chapter of my professional career with you.

My future goals include… Establishing a productive film and stage acting career; creating scholarships for young people that have dreams but need help realizing them; continuing to use the emotional power of acting and storytelling to connect people the world over; to write, direct and produce feature films, and to eventually teach acting at a performing arts institution in Baltimore.
