Each month (except July), The Theatre School publishes Theatre School News (TSN), our electronic alumni activity newsletter. Created as a vehicle to communicate alumni activities among alumni but now also read and used by many others, TSN is edited by Assistant Dean and Director of Alumni Relations John Bridges. During 2004-05, TSN listed activities for more than 700 alumni of The Theatre School and Goodman School of Drama.

Each issue provides a snapshot of the depth and breadth of activities our alumni are involved with, and the compilation is impressive. These statistics are based on issues published between August 2006 and June 2007:

• Alumni worked on over 50 commercials or voiceovers for products including AOL; Bed, Bath, and Beyond; Bud Light; Discover Card; Dentyne Ice; Herbal Essence; Ford; Cheerios; L'Oreal; Nintendo DS; Nissan; Pepsi Vanilla; Pillsbury; Southwest Airlines; Air-Tran Airlines; Verizon and Walgreens.
• Alumni worked at 85 theatres on the East Coast.
• Alumni were recognized with 21 awards or award nominations, including Tony Awards, Outer Critics Circle Award, After Dark Award, Drama Desk Award, Joseph Jefferson Awards, Joseph Jefferson Citations, L.A. Drama Critics Award, and LA Weekly Awards.
• Alumni worked in 14 countries other than the United States including Italy, Chile, Romania, England, Japan, Honduras, Greece, Mexico and Singapore.
• Alumni were featured in numerous articles in publications including Esquire, USA Today, The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Reader, Chicago Sun-Times, American Theatre Magazine, PerformInk and the Washington Post.
• Alumni worked in 29 different states.
• Alumni worked at 66 theatres on the West Coast.
• 34 alumni are Artistic or Co-Artistic Directors of theatres.
• Alumni worked on over 20 production companies including Warner Brothers Pictures, Saturn Films, MGM, 20th Century Fox Productions, Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, Lion's Gate, Miramax, Disney and New York Stage and Film.
• Alumni worked on at least 30 different television channels including ABC, CBS, NBC, VH1, HBO, CW, UPN, MTV, SHOWTIME AND FOX, on 101 different programs including HEROES, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, PRISON BREAK, JERICHO, GILMORE GIRLS, ER, RESCUE ME, PASSIONS, GREY'S ANATOMY, HUFF, JUDGING AMY, NIP/TUCK, LAW AND ORDER, MONK, THE SUITE LIFE OF ZACK AND CODY, NUMB3RS, OPRAH, DANCING WITH THE STARS, WEEDS, THE SIMPSONS, CSI, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS and 24.
• Alumni worked at 98 different Chicagoland area theatre companies.
• More alumni worked at Chicago Shakespeare, Goodman, Victory Gardens, Steppenwolf, TimeLine and Next theatres, and The Second City.
• Alumni worked on more than 15 Broadway/touring shows including THE LION KING, DOUBT, 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, THE PIRATE QUEEN, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, HAIRSPRAY, A CHORUS LINE, THE PRODUCERS, CHICAGO, MIMI LE DUCK, 42ND STREET, TWELVE ANGRY MEN, SPAMALOT and WICKED.
• Alumni worked on 119 films this year including A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION, , HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND, THANK YOU FOR NOT SMOKING, THE BREAK UP, INFAMOUS, AMERICAN DREAMZ, THE LAKE HOUSE, and TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY.
• Alumni have worked at 71 different schools including The Art Institute, Columbia University, NYU, Steppenwolf School, Walter Payton College Prep, Notre Dame, Old Town School of Folk Music, USC, UIC, Yale and The American Film Institute.
